Decommissioning

We provide a complete decommissioning solution that will give you peace of mind and maximise the return on your assets.

Decommissioning services include:

• Disk wiping/storage device cleaning. A highly professional system and guaranteed.
• Removal of identification of previous ownership

An important part of our decommissioning process is the removal of all sensitive data from hard drives. To ensure integrity of this service, we have from time to time engaged specialist forensic analysts to conduct internal auditing of our processes. Also we have a number of our customers who periodically come and randomly select the equipment that has gone through our security wiping process and take it away to audit through their forensic programs. We also have had our facilities security audited by several of NZ's biggest financial institutions and have been given a pass mark. The results of this monitoring has meant we are extremely confident in our security wiping services. We believe our decommissioning process are among the best in the World. We have developed this software in order to enhance our accountability to our clients, to ensure we uphold high standards of integrity and are able to manage our services with the smartest software on the market.

This software can be adapted to meet almost any need our clients have in the area of reporting, remarketing and asset management. We have developed an Extranet so our Clients can see the status of there equipment in realtime. It also enables our Clients to be able to do reporting in an excel format.

Recently, after seeing a demo of our software in action, a senior member of a major leasing company said that it was "the most impressive system he had seen in the industry"

Recycling Program

In New Zealand more and more focus is coming on the need to recycle E-Waste (Electronic Waste) waste in an environmentally friendly way.

Remarkit Solutions LTD are on the forefront and have not only been an organisation that have champion the need for sustainability, but also have been part of innovative solutions to this growing problem. Which we will contiue to put time and energy into this problem.
Several years ago we initiated funding from Government to do the first ever E Waste study in NZ. Drop us a line if you would like a copy. Remarkit were the first to apply for a Basel Permit to ship CRT Monitor for disposal in an Eco Friendly way. Remarkit were at the forefront of organising and implementing the first ever E-Day in NZ. Remarkit potentially set a World Record when they collected approx 140 ton's of E-Waste in a 6 hour period during the 2007 E-Day held in Wellington.

Remarkit Solutions are proud to be associated with companies like Dell , Gen-i and others who are seeking to be proactive in dealing with the very real issue of E Waste in New Zealand. Dell in association with Remarkit held the first ever "e-day"  in NZ. This was where consumers were able to dispose of their Computer waste for free. Next one will be held Nationwide on the 27th Sept 08. Contact Remarkit for more details. This helped to inspire a nation we has resulted in many other organisation, like ours, Councils and Corporates being involved in running E-Days in other parts of New Zealand.

Through our National and International  Network we can organise the disposal of most IT Waste, aiming at diverting in the area of 98% from Landfill.

Much has been made of the pollutants that exist in obsolete IT equipment. For example a CRT Monitor can contain up to 3Kg of Lead. This poses a serious health hazard if the Monitor is just dumped at a landfill, for the lead has the potential leach into the soil and contaminate. It has been estimated that California alone will spend $1 Billion on dealing with the toxic waste from second-hand IT equipment.

Initially the best way to dispose of equipment is to recycle back into "useful life" There are many groups, small business, schools and end uses that find great value left in second-hand equipment. As we re-use the equipment it becomes useful again right through its intended life span and beyond, which sometimes can be as much as 5 or 6 years later. So rather than equipment sitting in rooms where its useful value decreases daily, or dumped in landfills, it is better to recycle it quickly back into a situation of usefulness.

Freight

Remarkit can organise freight anywhere in NZ or around the world. We can supply packaging material and labels, organise the collection of the assets and transport them back to our secure Warehouse/s (Wellington' Auckland and Christchurch or in Australia). All assets will be tracked on an individual basis from pick-up to drop-off using the latest Webb based system. This service insures that no equipment will be lost. You can also take advantage of our special rates that we have with freighting companies.
